Joy
Clinical Director, Veterinary Surgeon – BVetMed MRCVS
Joy graduated with an honours degree in Veterinary Medicine in 2011 from the Royal Veterinary College, London. After 2 years working in small animal and exotics practice in Hertfordshire, she returned to South Yorkshire taking roles in the Doncaster and Barnsley areas. In 2021, she joined the Two Counties team where she enjoys all aspects of being a GP vet. In 2022, she obtained a GP Certificate in Small Animal Internal Medicine. Joy and her husband Luke purchased Two Counties Vets in 2025 and are excited to continue to develop and nurture the caring nature of the practice.

Colette
Veterinary Surgeon – BVetMed MRCVS
Colette graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in 1993. She originally started working at Two Counties Vets in 2013 and retired in 2021 to spend more time with her family. Colette made a welcome return to Two Counties in August 2025 and will be working at the Westwoodside branch 2 days a week. She has had many rescue pets over the years from mice and hamsters to cats and dogs. Her current pets are Nano, a 10 year old Jack Russell Terrier and Herbie, a 100 year old spur-thighed tortoise.

Sam
Veterinary Surgeon – BVMedSci BVM BVS MRCVS
Sam graduated with a degree in Veterinary Medicine from the University of Nottingham in July 2025, joining the Two Counties team shortly after. She is based at the main practice in Bessacarr throughout the week and enjoys all aspects of GP practice. Prior to studying Veterinary Medicine, she completed a degree in History of Art at the University of St Andrews, and this is something she still pursues in her spare time. Her time out of work is mostly spent with her horses, dog and cats and she has ambitions to have her own flock of sheep in the future.
Amy
Veterinary Surgeon – BVetMed MRCVS
Amy qualified as a Veterinary surgeon in 2011 from the Royal Veterinary College, London. Since then Amy has worked in a variety of small animal first opinion practices and in emergency out-of-hours practices. Amy joined the team at Two Counties in Aug 2022.

Katherine
Head Nurse
Katherine has been working in veterinary practices since 2002 and qualified as a RVN in 2006. She has worked in a variety of small animal settings and has a particular interest in animal behaviour and rabbits. Katherine joined Two Counties in 2022 and shortly after became Head Nurse. She is currently pursuing her behavioural interest with further studies – when she’s not spending time with her family, horses, dogs and cats!

Sarah
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Sarah started working in veterinary medicine in 2018 as an Animal Care Assistant and subsequently qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in July 2022. She joined the Two Counties team in November 2023 and really enjoys the rewards of being in our operating theatre. She is currently undertaking a Postgraduate Certificate in Anaesthesia.

Jessica
Registered Veterinary Nurse
Jessica joined Two Counties Vets in 2020 as a Nursing Assistant and qualified as a Registered Veterinary Nurse in 2025. She aspires to work within physiotherapy and acupuncture and wants to run consultations for pain management.

Nic
Nursing Assistant
Nic started in the practice in May 2006 (back when it was Spittlehouse Vets). She loves every aspect of her job, but especially loves being the prep nurse, readying the team for the procedures of the day. She has had many pets over the years (including reptiles), and currently has both a cat and rescue dog that mean the world to Nic and her family.

Kim
Practice Manager
Kim joined Two Counties Vets in September 2015 as a receptionist. She progressed to Head Receptionist and then in December 2022, after completing a Level 5 Leadership and Management course, she moved into the role as Practice Manager. Kim has also taken on the role as the Mental Health Advocate for the team.

Helen
Veterinary Care Assistant/Receptionist
Helen started working with Two Counties in May 2021 as a Receptionist, after being a client there first for many years. Helen completed a Level 2 Veterinary Care Assistant qualification in November 2023.She shares her time between working the front-of-house as a receptionist and behind the scenes as a Nursing Assistant. Helen is keen to undertake training to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse in due course.

Lucy
Nursing Assistant/Receptionist
Lucy has always had a keen interest in working with animals and joined the practice in 2019 as a Veterinary Nursing Assistant/Receptionist. After leaving school, Lucy completed an Animal Management course and from there she completed her Veterinary Nursing Assistant qualifications in 2013. At home Lucy runs a small farm alongside her husband, consisting of 25 head of cattle and 60 head of sheep. She also has a Border Terrier, a New Zealand Huntaway and 4 crazy children.

Robyn
Receptionist
Robyn started working for Two Counties in 2018 as a Nursing Assistant after graduating from Bishop Burton College with a degree in Animal Management and Behaviour. Robyn has also gained a Level 3 Certificate in grooming at Bishop Burton College. Robyn has since moved over to the Reception Team and, along with Helen, deals with the pet insurance claims among various other duties. Robyn also superbly manages Two Counties’ social media activity.

Shireen
Receptionist
Shireen joined Two Counties in June 2021 and works as part of the reception team. In July 2019 before coming to Two Counties, Shireen completed an NVQ Level 3 in Animal Management with a Distinction Merit.

Di
Receptionist
Di joined the reception team in February 2022. Di has worked in several Veterinary practices and has brought her knowledge and skills with her to Two Counties.
